a throughly modern doily

I never have been a big fan of the old-timey doily. They just kind of add an undesired “dated” funk to things in my eyes; and don’t quite do anything for me. They are very tea-partyish, which in that case, work well for fun, frilly and pink celebrations. But, not to fret, there is always a pillow of looming inspiration that can be drawn from “our delicate laced ancestors”. With a little modernity, we can always come up with a new use for an old-time design:

I got this in the mail last October for my birthday, but forgot to share. Just this week my Mom got one too. Isn’t this just the most creative birthday surprise ever…

it comes “especially” packaged just for you.

It’s a “make a wish” birthday necklace…Happy Birthday from your friends at Anthropologie. This company never ceases to amaze me with their creativity and design inspiration. One of my many dreams=be a creative director at Anthropologie. The design of their corporate headquarters isn’t to shabby either, check it out here. Really check it is click worthy!! Oh and the very BEST part, the design concept sketches. CLICK HERE.
